The SmartElex JST-SH 8 Channel I2C Multiplexer Breakout Module – TCA9548A is designed to solve one of the most common I2C communication challenges—using multiple sensors with the same address.

This I2C Multiplexer enables you to select and control up to 8 independent I2C channels, effectively isolating devices while communicating through a single I2C bus. By cascading multiplexers, you can expand your setup to support up to 64 I2C buses.

Built around the TCA9548A, this 8-channel multiplexer routes I2C signals efficiently using a JST-SH connector, ensuring stable connections and easy integration in compact electronics projects. The module features eight configurable I2C addresses, adjustable via onboard ADR jumpers, allowing multiple multiplexers to operate on the same I2C port without conflicts.

With a wide operating voltage range of 1.65V to 5.5V, it is fully compatible with microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, and other JST-SH-enabled SmartElex boards—making it a reliable and scalable solution for sensor-heavy I2C applications.
